B7 Avant Rear Interior Trim Removal

A bit baffled past this one...

I need to remove the passenger side trim pieces in the dorsum of my Avant and then I can remove the mill sub enclosure. All the same, I have however to detect any DIY, guide, etc that explains how to do it without breaking every piece of plastic.

I was hoping someone hither might accept something bachelor that I can use. Ive been searching for some time and would love to have the reassurance of a guide to let me know what I need to do. So far my search results take come with nothing of relevance.

    Thanks in advance.

For ane, its identical to the b6, and so search in there too.

    But the gist:

Beginning remove the flip up necktie-downwards claw blocks. Then remove the blackness latch cover on the bottom of the torso. And then I think yous remove the rear taillight bolt on the side you're removing. Then I retrieve afterwards that you just pull information technology back. Carefully. The metallic pinch clips that hold it on are frail.

Pretty much this, 4 torx bits property down the necktie downwardly claw blocks, 5 torx bits belongings the piece of trim that runs forth the trunk lip, 1 10 philips screw up near the top dorsum of the trim. No demand to remove the taillight bolt. And so pull, firmly, but carefully, towards the centre of the machine, I find it easier to offset at the back of the trim and piece of work my way frontward. The trim kind of tucks behind a piece of the rear seat at the front end.

The metal clips are hateful, and will grip similar crazy, and so all of a sudden let go.

Not sure if the passenger side is different from the driver'southward side, just I was able to remove the commuter's side trim without removing the rear taillight bolt.

    Cheers for the info!

Ill exist giving this another effort over the weekend. Hopefully will have successful results.

Also just realized theres a bolt below the subwoofer slice... downwardly below the rear floor of the avant. I assume so Ill need to somehow accept the flooring out/move it out of the mode?

Sorry if I am not entirely informed. Slow twenty-four hours at piece of work and brainstorming the weekend'southward projects. Hard to check what you guys are maxim when my machine is at home and I am at work (collection the spare machine lol)

I don't retrieve so, information technology's been a long time since I took that all out of my car. Just looked at the subwoofer box though (it's under the stairs) and in that location are 4 commodities holes total, 3 are along the top/well-nigh the top, and in that location is another well-nigh halfway down. Null towards the bottom though, and I don't recall taking annihilation out from the floor. Could be wrong though, it's been a long fourth dimension. One time you lot go the trim off though it will be pretty obvious to you lot.

If y'all can become your hand closest to each of the 4 clips on the panel, that is the safest way to ensure you don't break annihilation. Absolute best option would exist to have the schwaben interior trim removal kit.

And if you demand more of those clips when they come out, GAP has them. I had to order some when I removed my trunk trim in my sedan because a couple dropped into the abyss.

IIRC, the manufactory is a 6"

I thought well-nigh going that route, just I'm non sold on how much quality bass will be delivered. My plan is to build an enclosure for the left side and put the new amp where the sub was.

If I had to guess its a Digital Designs SW6.5.... a vi.5" sub. No manner an viii" is fitting in in that location, here is a link to the sub I think information technology is http://www.ddaudio.com/products/mobi...o/woofers/sw65

Yep I call up its a half dozen.5" sub. I was more than or less concerned the gasket surround wouldnt fit, simply if his did then maybe it will work haha.

Im not looking for a TON of bass. Right now the car delivers just enough for my tastes, but with my rear sub disabled (aka unplugged) the super depression frequencies get lost (probably through the high pass filter in the amp).

It looks to be a relatively cheap upgrade to practise, then Sick give it a whirl and meet what happens.

Looking over all these photos and descriptions... one matter even so confuses me a bit. Where are these clips anybody is referring to that can be a pain in the ass?

Is the OEM box sealed? Anybody got specs on the book of the box?

I actually like this idea of using the onetime box, calculation a new sub, adding an aftermarket amp.

Alternatively, I have a custom ported box to fit backside that panel, and an 8 inch JL W3, only I haven't got around to fiting it all yet.

They are behind the trim, once yous get the door off, wait in there towards the dorsum, yous will run into two downwards there, and then there is i near halfway forth the trim at the top (worst of the lot) and another i near the front.

99% sure it is sealed, as to the volume, not sure, looking at the size I would guess effectually 1.0cf.

OEM box is ported. The port is located to the right of the speaker pointing downward.

I had idea almost filling the box with water to figure out the volume, but that seems similar a lot of work to figure that out. If I had to approximate, I would say its almost .75 cubic feet.

Could also fill with something like packing peanuts for measurement, to get a general idea.

Kickoff I switched out the oem speaker for a subwoofer and ran that for a week. Sounded really loose and whistled at certain frequencies. Took out the enclosure, sealed information technology up, added polyfil, and reinstalled. Now it is the same loudness, hits more frequencies, and sounds very tight and make clean
